چکیده

The DESY II Test Beam Facility is a key infrastructure for modern high energy physics detector development, providing particles with small momentum spread in range from 1 to 6 GeV user groups e.g. the LHC experiments and Belle as well generic R&D. telescopes are provided all three test beam areas precise tracking reference without time stamping, triggered readout of > 115 $\mu$s. If highest available rates used, multiple traversing within one frame, thus creating ambiguities that cannot be resolved additional timing layers. Several upgrades currently investigated tested: Firstly, fast monolithic pixel sensor, TelePix, provide track triggering on region interest proposed overcome this limitation. TelePix 180 nm HV-CMOS sensor has been developed jointly by DESY, KIT University Heidelberg designed at KIT. In publication, performance evaluation presented: difference between two amplifier designs evaluated. A hit detection efficiency above 99.9 % combined resolution below 4 ns negligible noise determined. Finally, digital output evaluated shows short absolute delay respect traditional trigger scintillator an excellent resolution. Secondly, LGAD plane few 10 ps, which foreseen drastically improve telescope. Time resolutions 70 ps have determined collaboration California, Santa Barbara.

Beam Based Alignment at the Kek Accelerator Test Facility

The KEK Accelerator Test Facility (ATF) damping ring is a prototype low emittance source for the NLC/JLC linear collider. To achieve the goal normalized vertical emittance γεy = 20 nm-rad, magnet placement accuracy better than 30 μm must be achieved. Accurate beam-based alignment (BBA) is required. The ATF arc optics uses a FOBO cell with two horizontally focusing quadrupoles, two sextupoles an...

Neutron measurements from beam-target reactions at the ELISE neutral beam test facility.

Measurements of 2.5 MeV neutron emission from beam-target reactions performed at the ELISE neutral beam test facility are presented in this paper. The measurements are used to study the penetration of a deuterium beam in a copper dump, based on the observation of the time evolution of the neutron counting rate from beam-target reactions with a liquid scintillation detector. A calculation based ...

Estb: a New Beam Test Facility at Slac*

End Station A Test Beam (ESTB) is a beam line at SLAC using a small fraction of the bunches of the 13.6 GeV electron beam from the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS), restoring test beam capabilities in the large End Station A (ESA) experimental hall. ESTB will provide one of a kind test beam essential for developing accelerator instrumentation and accelerator R&D, performing particle and parti...

Degeneracies at a β-Beam and a Super-Beam Facility

The presence of degeneracies can considerably worsen the measure of the neutrino oscillation parameters θ13 and δ. We study the physics reach of a specific “CERN” setup, using a standard β-Beam and Super-Beam facility. These facilities have a similar sensitivity in both parameters. Their combination does not provide any dramatic improvement as expected due to their almost identical L/E ratio. W...
